Packard Bell MX45 bios mod/unlock
#1
Hi everyone!

I need help with my old Packard Bell MX45 notebook. I want to be able to change the video output to the internal LCD, to external VGA monitor or to both but there are no video settings in the BIOS - probably hidden...

Can someone please help me with modding or unlocking the BIOS?!

Manufacturer and model: Packard-Bell Easynote MX45
BIOS revision: 0302 (T12FvNC.302)
BIOS date : 4Jan2007
BIOS type: AMI
BIOS link: BIOS zip attached to the post

Thank you in advance!

Hi again!

I have done some work myself but still no success - at least I found that all options in the bios are unlocked - there are no hidden content...

I was able to extract the BIOS file and view the structure using AMIBCP tool.
I am posting a screen shot with the structure below... There are no video settings at all.
I do not know if a new module must be added to the BIOS or something to be modified to make it show the video always on the external VGA monitor.

Unfortunately my LCD is not working and I can only use a VGA monitor but to make the notebook send video on the external VGA I have to press Fn+F5 buttons at the system start. And every time I restart I have to use the same button combination to have the video on the VGA...

Any ideas, please???

I need the file .fd format to fix the BIOS from recovery mode or CRISIS (Fn+Esc while powering). Do you know where I can get it?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Hmm... Ok fine... https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/
