Foxconn G31MXP-K
#1
Good evening!

I have such motherboard and 2x2Gb of RAM and Win7 x64, but it sees only 3317 Mb of 4 Gb, with latest BIOS 861F1P05.
So, i looked on datasheet for the 82G31 memory controller, which has this motherboard and it says that there is a possibility for 82G31 to enable memory remap, BUT, in the Foxconn's BIOS there is no support of this feature!!

May be there is some mod on it/or it could be made?
BTW The ASUS P5KPL-CM is on iG31 chipset also, BUT it has an option for memory remapping.

Please, help.

Are you running x86 (32 bit) Windows?

32 bit can only see a maximum of 4gb , and use a maximum of 3.25gb or 3.5gb. Also , the system may take some of the memory for things such as onboard video etc. For example , if you have a 512mb video card that isnt dedicated this also takes down the amount of "usable" system memory available.

For Windows to correctly identify and use more than 4gb of RAM , you need to upgrade to a x64 (64 bit) version of Windows.

Someone read the post too fast Big Grin Notice the first sentence of his post:

"have such motherboard and 2x2Gb of RAM and Win7 x64"

So, you have 64bit windows which is good, just post a bios link so I can check it out.

Thanks,
TheWiz

Thank you.
Just cheked the site of Foconn and found that there is newest BIOS 861F1P06, so I flashed it and the situation is the same like with previous BIOS.

In the next post I will put that bios link.
