[We need your help!] Help fight vendor lock-in, sign this petition to Lenovo
#31
Thumbs Up
(02-13-2015, 05:58 PM)cymprex Wrote: I just signed the petition, Lenovo's modus operandi is "be average" not "for those who do". By the way anybody ever watch this awesome critique of the new Thinkpads vs the original IBM Thinkpads?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb7p3VkQCOo

the related videos are good too!

That makes two good reasons to steer clear of Lenovo

Signed! Here's my message to Lenovo:

"I'm signing this petition because I am looking for a new high-end notebook PC. I have REMOVED LENOVO FROM MY LIST OF PURCHASING CHOICES, until I receive email-confirmation that Lenovo's abhorrent anti-consumer/anti-end-user practice of BIOS-Whitelisting has ceased."

Thank you Cyberian!

!!!!!PLEASE READ!!!!!! Our Ukrainian friends are undergoing atrocities right now and need support. There are two things you can do for starters:

1.) Donate to one of various organizations offering medical, military, and psychological support to those impacted: Support Organizations

2.) Combat misinformation on social media.

Also, please feel free to PM me if I have not replied again about your BIOS mod request after 5 days.

I wanted to support the petition, but I am little late, by couple of years Wink
Nevertheless, I support the cause.

I think it should be the case of a class action. Whitelisting hardware is not only annoying, it's unfair for hardware manufacturers and for customers. And the justification is simply ridiculous!
