My mobo is P5G41T-M LX2/GB which is based on Intel G41 chipset that PCI Express 1.1 compatible.
Recently I've bought ASUS Radeon HD7770 DC 1024MB videocard which is PCI Express 3.0
When I tried it with my mobo, it won't detect it. Monitor is blank.
Since I have integrated graphics I've tried it in Dual boot (IGD+PEG) and there was no new hardware detected.
Then I found this article http://www.overclock.net/a/the-final-ans...patibility which stated that AMD GPUs with PCIe 3.0 design are not compatible with mobos that have PCIe 1.1 slot, but some are upgradable via bios.
I've flashed latest bios availiable for my mobo but with no luck.
So I'm interested if it possible to update AMI bios code to add support for PCIe 2.1+ cards on G41 chipset like other manufacturers did?
The latest version of BIOS for my mobo can be downloaded from: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock...S-0504.zip
