Hello,
Recently I got an HP CQ61-340EN with a corrupted Insyde BIOS. Using a USB flash drive I was not able to flash the BIOS. However, using a Raspberry Pi I was able to dump the BIOS chip. I then flashed the latest BIOSÂ which I downloaded from the HP site and the laptop booted up and it works fine. However, because I didn't edit the freshly downloaded BIOS, information like the serial number, product info, etc. are missing.
How do I edit the fresh BIOS file so that I can include the laptop info from the dumped bad BIOS?
Dumped BIOS: https://www.mediafire.com/?dti7vn9b1mg4l6j
Fresh BIOS: https://www.mediafire.com/?uht731b4s19min1
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: Using this tutorial I was able to set the information while using the untouched BIOS: http://14phoenix.blogspot.lt/2013/07/fix...s-for.html
Problem solved, I guess
