Hello guys and girls, how are you?
Recently, I change my Laptop's Wi-Fi Module from a RT3290 to a Dell Wireless 1705, both with Bluetooth capabilities. (I know it is not a big upgrade, but it is a better module and allowed me to use Linux without the problems of the older card).
Anyway, the problem is that neither Linux nor Windows detect the Bluetooth capability. On the previous laptop (a Dell Inspiron), it worked just fine (and my RT3290 also had Bluetooth working). My laptop is a HP Pavilion 15-n274ca TouchSmart Notebook PC
I tried to get help from Ask Ubuntu forums, but as the card is not even recognized, they can't help (it's probably disabled in bios or a hardware incompatibility). My BIOS, like all the BIOS from HP, has not too many options to explore.
Having said all that, I was wondering. The Wi-Fi card is working correctly, the Bluetooth part is the only problem. Can it be that the whitelisting is having an effect on it? Is there anything else that can be blocking the Bluetooth?
I tried to Google the problem, but it takes me to problems with drivers which is not the case. I also tried to search for modding my BIOS, but it seems that most of the tutorials are for older models.
Can you give me a direction or your opinions on the issue?
Thank you!
