My garage computer containg the GA-EP45T-USB3 finally gave up due to the heat wave this summer. The sensors indicated wild fluctuating MB voltages which triggered frequent reboots. Since finding a direct replacement is difficult due to this MB's popularity, I tried a GA-EP45T-UD3LR rev1.1 which can also use the Xeon X5492 with the mod sticker & DDR3 RAM.
Updates to the original 12E bios include the following:
ICH10R southbridge - v11.2.0.1527 with the TRIM mod
RTL8111C ethernet - rtegrom266.lom
ICHAACHI 1.2 original from a EP45-USB3P
Updated NCPUCODE
Comparing benchmarks of the GA-EP45T-UD3LR rev1.1 with GA-EP45T-USB3 showed no significant differences, making this MB a reasonable replacement.
