Dell Studio Hybrid BIOS Extract
#1
Hello everyone,

Long story short : I have found my old Studio Hybrid 140G and wanted to perform a CPU upgrade form Core 2 Duo T5750 to Core 2 Duo T9900.
Bought the T9900, swapped the CPU's but the PC won't start (gives me the amber colour on the power button).
Also have found out that the 140G only supports CPU up to the T9500.
Found this tutorial (https://www.delidded.com/how-to-update-c...-ami-bios/) to update the Microcode in BIOS in order to make it support my new CPU.

My problem : None of the tutorials worked when I tried to extract the .bios or .hdr file because I need them in order to proceed with the upgrade/update.

So if somebody could help me to extract the .bios or .hdr files from this (https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/...erid=v1vky) Bios.exe or could extract them for me I'd be very thankful !

Best Regards,

iDope

Chipset GM965 doesn't support FSB=1066 Mhz. So you can't use your T9900.

Alright thank you. The reason I thought that the T9900 would work was the comment on this youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H8wAvsJc9I) (The comment is from the user Steve S and it's the third comment)

He stated that he upgraded his machine with :
Core 2 Duo T9600 @ 2.8Ghz
2x2GB DDR2 800 ...

The thing that made me wonder was that the T9600 and the T9900 both support FSB=1066 Mhz so I thought that it must be a typo since the 6 and the 5 are too close to each other on the keyboard. But the thing is that he also stated the 2,8 Ghz which is only found in the T9600. And since T models can't be overclocked, my only point was how did he manage to do that ? Since he's not answering I thought that maybe you knew the anser to this..

And by the way, the most powerful CPU that is supported by the Dell Studio 140G is the T9500 (Source : Official Dell website)

Best regards
