Hello maybe someone can help me here, I would be very happy. My bios has been unlocked, but unfortunately I can not write some settings. However, it is only temporarily taken over until the complete restart of the notebook is completed. I own an Acer E5-774G with I7-7500U CPU.
If I test the Notbook in Prime95, the TDP package goes short on 19W and then permanently on 15W, tested with XTU Throttlestop HWInfo and AIDA64.
When I'm in the bios of
to
and
to
I have in the Windows TPD 25W max.
The problem is that the settings are only valid until the notebook is restarted.
I have made the Bios original available and modified, but unfortunately I can not save permanently in all settings. I am also not sure if I have set everything correctly, but I know that the TDP is higher than 15W.
I am thankful for every help.
I'm sorry for my bad English
maybe the link also helps, sounds like the same problem

and that of UEFItool

Hello
so you understand my plans better I've made a list...
15W TDP max. = 2,7GHz (2,69)
Core Voltage Offset -0,095V = 3GHz (2,97)
25W TDP max. = 3,3GHz (3,29)
Core Voltage Offset -0,095V = 3,5GHz (3,48)
here the CPU data
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/de/de/...0-ghz.html
maybe this helps
Setting: Package Power Limit MSR Lock, Variable: 0x29 {05 91 77 01 78 01 D7 00 03 00 29 00 10 10 00 01 00}
0x9A1A7 Option: Disabled, Value: 0x0 {09 07 04 00 30 00 00}
0x9A1AE Option: Enabled, Value: 0x1 {09 07 03 00 00 00 01}

0xCE1E8 Option: Enable/Disable locking of Package Power Limit settings. When enabled, PACKAGE_POWER_LIMIT MSR will be locked and a reset will be required to unlock the register., Value: 0x1 {09 07 78 01 00 00 01}

I do not understand what you can't do, that you are trying to do.
Do you need these changed, and don't know how?
Package Power Limit MSR Lock, Variable: 0x29 {05 91 77 01 78 01 D7 00 03 00 29 00 10 10 00 01 00}
Option: Disabled, Value: 0x0 {09 07 04 00 30 00 00} << This is default, do you want enabled, or disabled?
Option: Enabled, Value: 0x1 {09 07 03 00 00 00 01}
Setting: Add Storage device in PEP mitigation list, Variable: 0xF7 {05 91 52 00 AF 00 E2 AE 34 12 F7 00 04 10 00 01 00}
Option: Package Power Limit MSR Lock, Value: 0x0 (default) {09 07 77 01 10 00 00} << This is default, do you want the other below default instead?
Option: Enable/Disable locking of Package Power Limit settings. When enabled, PACKAGE_POWER_LIMIT MSR will be locked and a reset will be required to unlock the register., Value: 0x1 {09 07 78 01 00 00 01}

1. Thank you very much for contacting me.
2. My problem is that my CPU clock.
under load it goes a few seconds (I think 28sec) 3.0GHz (PL2) and then to 2.7GHz (PL1) and stays there.
but I want 3.5GHz permanently, except when 100C temperature throtteling is achieved.
For example, Dell should deinstalieren the DPTF driver and block him and have 3.5GHz under load with i7-7500U.
At lenovo, RWEverything is about BIOS settings in others.
I do not know what I can do so I have permanently 3.5GHz, I always get in ThrottleStop the red indicator "RING EDP OTHER and PL2 and later PL1".
I am not familiar with bios mods, have only a few days ago I looked at UEFItool and the universal IFR extractor, I do not understand everything yet.

I can mod BIOS, but I am not familiar with your issue, so don't know exactly what you need changed and what to change it to. Do you know of a common name or method people fix this with, if yes what do they call it, or show me where they discuss fixing etc,
I read many pages on throttlestop and the PL1 PL2 issue etc, but since I've not personally had trouble with this issue I don't know what you need to set to fix it, even after reading about this. If you know exactly what needs set, let me know and I can mod BIOS for you to lock that into BIOS defaults.
You did not answer my questions on post #3 about the settings you showed, do you need those changed? If yes, that is easy to change
Yes, TDP for your CPU is 15W standard, but TDP-Up to 25W at 2.9GHz
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...0-ghz.html
https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/intel/core_i7/i7-7500u
Did you see this thread about your CPU
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threa...ut.246841/
Looks like last few images of your first post you solved this via BIOS settings, but they are lost on reboot? What does that mean, on reboot the BIOS settings you applied are reset? If yes, then it's possible the laptop is overheating and resetting CMOS or about to corrupt the BIOS maybe, what are the temps at 25W under loads?
Please give me link to your mod BIOS only, I will check settings. Did you already unlock all settings?

Hello.
that's exactly what I've already read.
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threa...ut.246841/
and most of the threads already know them, since they answered.
I do not understand the 2.9GHz, when should I reach 3.5GHz?
the Intel side is known to me but questionable.
but I still send them a few left that you may not know.
https://gist.github.com/Mnkai/5a8edd34bd...bd90b8c3d4
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/...ll.766743/
because of the BIOS settings.
temperature problem I can exclude. If I only have 1 minute in Windows or 1 hour, the bios will only reset the values.
eg.
remains numlock on and so on but PL1 PL2 / PL2 Power is reset, Platform PL1 Time Windows and PSYS PMax Power synonymous. would like to test it if I could adjust the fix, whether windows synonymous with 25W max TDP starts (3.5Ghz).
When I run Prime95 I always keep an eye on the temperature and the computer has never had more than 94C. everything about 90C in a netbook is too much for me, have now bought a larger cooler for the model. it just does not bring me any time to install it.
to her link,
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threa...ut.246841/
I would like to hold on to PL2 but I can not find the right place in rw everything

I just noticed that apparently also unvoltage does not work in bios, could you maybe create a modified bios? I think that where I have it does not work right yet.

I have yesterday reinstalled windows and since then the problem is gone, the cpu clocks again at 3.5GHz and goes to 25W TDP. Unfortunately, I can not say now what it was, I suspect a driver problem.
Best regards Elysium

the original bios is sent with the post but the bios is the last version of those on this page (1.27) : https://www.acer.com/ac/fr/FR/content/su...t/6784?b=1
May i have to do dump bios first ?
May i have to install this new bios with usb ?
Thanks a lot
