Hi,
I've bought a used 4790k to replace my 4670k. With 4790k it cannot post and no error code is displayed on Motherboard. Only the vent's spinning. The motherboard is Biostar Hi-Fi Z87X 3D. With 4670k works just fine.
I have found only two similar/exact cases with this board:
https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/...d.2059308/
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/hardw...78149.html
The first one is solved but no description of how.
The second one is not solved.
Then I found more examples with similar issues but not the same board:
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.ph...us-vi-hero
I have tried flashing BIOS multiple times with the F12 method - no change. I have tried with "Tseries BIOS Update" through Windows, but the software won't run at all.
In the last link above conclusion is that intel ME (management engine) is the problem. The Usual flash process often doesn't update the ME firmware. Today I have downgraded it from the latest version to version 9 (not sure if that also flashed ME firmware, can anyone confirm that to me), installed old chipset drivers and the last step is to flash the BIOS again. But from the link above I must do that from within Windows, but the software for that won't run. Changing the CPUs is getting really annoying.
Did someone have a similar experience? I need help fast, or I'm going to lose it. :)
P.S. I've contacted Biostar support but the speed of their response...
