Hello, I have an HP Zbook 15 G6 laptop, whose BIOS got updated and since then the processor can not be undervolted, not the fans can be controlled by 3rd party app like
NoteBook FanControl. I cannot downgrade it back, because it does not allow past a certain version.
I have dumped the full BIOS (2 of them) from the motherboard using a chip reader. Can anyone help me edit it, so the undervolting feature can be reenabled? Thank you!

Hi!
I can't help you with editing, but we are able to safely downgrade your bios.
Which version do you want to downgrade to?

I would like to downgrade to 01.02.02. It can be downloaded here: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp99501-1...p99616.exe . I have a friend who owns a service and has chip writters, but he told me that the downloaded BIOS file is incomplete, so he cannot write it unless he has the full BIOS.
Whe I try to downgrade via the downloaded exe, after reboot I get a message ”BIOS Update denied. BIOS update denied by system policy.Canceling the system BIOS update”.

If you want "01.02.02", then you need to be on version "01.04.05" or lower for downgrade to be allowed. You can't do without chip writers.

The only dump I found in the net is exactly the 01.02.02 (because It has Intel ME 12.0.45.1509).
But, unfortunately, it was accidentally pwed and has a different region from your id's in ME, which cannot be cleared due to the sign.
In posts about a similar device, it is said that flashing a cleared EC can remove the password. So, I extracted the EC image from the update file.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, but I had no news until now. So, my friend flashed the BIOS you've sent, with the EC image. No BIOS password, but took long time to turn on and displayed an error message "There is a problem with the HP Endpoint Security Controller on the unit. Please contact HP to have the unit serviced". I could enter the BIOS setup, and the version it showed was 01.03.04.
My friend than said he could clear the ME, which he did; but, after that, the laptop would turn on at normal speed, but, after the same message, it shuts down. Can't enter even the BIOS setup, nor boot to OS.
The fact that the BIOS you've sent me is 01.03.04 is great, because it allowes downgrading to the 01.02.02 (I had it and worked).
What do you suggest to do about the shutdown issue (or the message cause)?
Thank you very much for what you did for me!

Hi! That's OK. No need to worry.

I don't know how it happened that the BIOS version turned out to be 01.03.04. It seems due to insufficient information on the support page, I made a mistake and gave a clear EC for version 01.02.02.

Previously, I already said that's almost not possible to clear ME without bad cons. because of signing.

I don't really understand anything about passwords and clearing regions... But, perhaps, flashing another EC version, which this time certainly corresponds to the BIOS 01.03.04, will solve the problem. DOWNLOAD
P.S. I will also say in advance that I am not capable of anything more.
