ASUS D509DJ BIOS Unlock Request
#1
Hey friends!

I want to unlock my laptop's BIOS settings. I need to decrease the amount of shared RAM to my integrated-GPU. I actually want to disable it at all, if I can. FIFA21 insists to use that trash integrated-GPU, causing 20-25FPS at best. I think if I can manage to find an option to disable integrated-GPU, FIFA21 will be forced to use the other one. Disabling on device manager doesn't work.

https://www.asus.com/supportonly/D509DJ/HelpDesk_BIOS/

Here is the link.

Thank you so much!

1. If you don't have an hardware spi programmer ,don't consider to edit a bios of laptop of amd platform. Because you need it to read/write bios chip.

2. In addition to the normal menu unlock ,we also need to inject AMD CBS menu ,as the option "Integrated Graphics Controller" you need is under this external module. But it is uncertain to inject this module successfully.

One Of: Integrated Graphics Controller, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0xD0, VarStore: 0x5000, QuestionId: 0x8F, Size: 1, Min: 0x0, Max 0xF, Step: 0x0 {05 91 FD 01 FE 01 8F 00 00 50 D0 00 10 10 00 0F 00}
0x15F3A One Of Option: Disabled, Value (8 bit): 0x0 {09 07 1A 00 00 00 00}
0x15F41 One Of Option: Forces, Value (8 bit): 0x2 {09 07 FF 01 00 00 02}
0x15F48 One Of Option: Auto, Value (8 bit): 0xF (default) {09 07 0F 00 10 00 0F}
0x15F4F End One Of {29 02}

As I understand, there isn't much thing to do, right? I am sorry if I sound like a stupid, but BIOS modding is not something I am good at.

Thank you for your answer.

1. Honestly say , it's a little bit difficult and complex to modify asus's amd laptop(ryzen) ,i have been modified successfully in model fx505du,fx505dd,fx505dt ,FA706IU ..etc.
But your laptop model i have no experience yet.

2. If you don't have a programmer to support the modification ,maybe you could take a attempt to
change variable via Grub shell or ru.efi to arrive your demand.

First try this process and tell me the result.

Thank you for the answer. I will try it, however, there is something I wonder. May this project risk the warranty of my laptop? I've heard that once you broke the BIOS-chip's software, you need to replace it with a new one. I should be aware of the risks.

Thank you so much.

I don't want you to do bios mod because you don't have spi programmer.
This process only is try to read a variable value ,it's not a bios modification. i'm hope you know what i'm doing.

see below again ,that process is want you to read value from address
0xD0 , it's stored address of Integrated Graphics Controller.
If its return value is 0xF ,it means "Integrated Graphics Controller" now is Auto.
