Hey all! I have a Dell laptop with an admin password lock in the BIOS that I would like to remove. I'm very inexperienced with all of this and was hoping to get some guidance on how to go about things. I've flashed my T430 BIOS with a CH341A programer and an SOP8 clamp before so I have a rudimentary understanding of what is involved. I tried to use flashrom and the clamp I had on hand to dump the BIOS, but the chip in the latitude is a different package size and the pins wont make proper contact. With some googe-fu I managed to work out that the Winbond 25R256JVEN is a WSON8 package and ordered this chip probe for my programmer - https://www.ebay.com/itm/334755895911
Am I on the right track so far? Once I successfully dump the bios would It be simpler to modify the bios and re-flash or obtain stock bios from dell and flash that?
