ECS 945GZT-M (945GZ/CT-M): CPU Support
#1
Hello, I have a motherboard lying without a job, an ECS 945GZT-M v1.0, and the official support page says that it only supports the Intel Core 2 Duos E4300, E4400, and E4500, as well as Intel Pentium Dual Cores E2180, E2200 and E2220. Wish to have that motherboard support more Core 2-based CPUs than these provided above because I want it to have a better Pentium E5500 than a Celeron 346. Can someone patch the BIOS with new microcodes? Thanks in advance.

Post a screenshot of Mainboard tab of CPU-Z.
Explain exactly what happens when you try to boot with new CPU.

Cannot do that at the moment, sorry, but if i try booting with a new CPU, the motherboard shows no signs of life, fans spin up and the board doesn't beep.

You need to install supported CPU for screenshot making.
Make a photo of new CPU.

Try to flash official BIOS for 945GZT-M, version - 07/11/07
And make new screenshot of CPU-Z.

Just updated, doubt it will support the new CPU out of the box...

Doubt it will work. That CPU was released in 2010, the latest BIOS is dated 2007.

Hello, the motherboard does not POST with the new CPU. I boot it up but no beep codes and nothing on display...
