Hello Bios-Mods members,
Backstory:
I foolishly upgraded the BIOS on my supermicro X12SPA-TF from version 1.0 -> 1.9 and it broke compatibility with the ES Intel Xeon Gold 6336Y that I have installed in the board. The system will not post now, nor will IPMI let me flash back to version 1.0 stating that a downgrade is not possible.
If either of the below two options is possible I'd really appreciate assistance in modifying the BIOS to do so:
1) Modifying the latest BIOS for the board (1.9) to allow allow engineering sample CPU computability again.
2) Spoofing the BIOS 1.0 Version file to look like version 1.9, so that the IPMI will allow me to flash it over the existing 1.9 version.
Links to BIOS files:
BIOS 1.0 (works with ES CPU's) https://www.supermicro.com/support/resou...emID=13344
BIOS 1.9 (the latest available for the board) https://www.supermicro.com/about/policie...emID=20660
Thank you all in advance for any input you may have on this matter,
Xenocrates
