MSI(Microstar MS-7103) Motherboard

Hey all,

I have an MSI 7103v1 MB. Here is my dilemma.

The board can support a 3.0Ghz P4 775 1MB cache cpu that does not have EM64T technology.

However i want to use a cpu that is 3.0Ghz 2MB cache and does have EM64T technology, but there is some problem trying to use it as the computer always freezes trying to install the OS whether it be XP or win7 x86 or x64bit.

So can this be fixed with a modded bios?

Version 2 of the MB shows that it can support this kind of cpu, but I can't D/L the bios from the MSI website. Here is the spec for the CPU that I would like to use: http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=prodcpu2&prod_no=1084&maincat_no=1 it is the Cedar Mill SL9KG

[Note] I was able to open this bios file using the AWDbedit-10_b_bin zip file from this web site.

This is a bit interesting. I guess the question is does it recognize the CPU or is it an issue where its recognized but no EM64T support crashes the OS.
