Intel ich9r rom update for hp xw4600
#1
Hi,

i've bought two new ssd for my hp xw4600 workstation, but i have a lot of trouble with booting them from the intel raid controller. I need the raid option for my native sata raid-1, i cant switch to the ahci option in bios.
The current intel-bios version is 7.5 and i've googled some threads where people had similar problems (but with other mainboards). Some of them solved their issues by updating the intel raid bios. Sadly i did not found an option like this for my hp xw4600 so I ask you for helping me. Could someone please update the intel raid bios inside the hp bios release for me, please?
You can find the current hp bios for xw4600 here: HP-Link
Many thanks!

Hello again,
sorry if i'm annoying... but can somebody give me an answer please? Did I forgot something, violate a rule or is the replacement of intel raid bios inpossible?
Or have I just to wait? Please just give me a hint...
Thanks a lot!

Too bad Sad

But thank you very much for reply!
Is there a chance that the hp support will help and they release a bugfixed version of their bios?

Ok, tried to have contact with hp support. Either they do not unterstand me or they are really not interessted in helping customers...
Anyway, can you please tell me why "this type of hp bios is currently not modable"?

Thank you very much!

Hey Flagelated,

I've solved my problem by buying an additional raid controller for my raid harddisk and set the sata mode in hp bios to ahci...
So, not really a solution, more likely a workaround...

Hi Grassrotts,

thanks for your reply.

Seems to be the only way to get both to run.
