Dell SATA mode Change...?

Hi Guys

Please bear with me....As im new here and no nothing of how to modify check a BIOS..

I have a sweet little Dell D630 Does all i need it to.
It is currently running BIOS release A17 with the HDD set to AHCI in the BIOS.

According to PCISope mobo is running on the INTEL 82801 chipset.
I think, for whatever reason Dell have limited their BIOS to support SATA I only... whilst I Beleive the mobo to be SATA II capable.

How can i check.
If the Mobo will support SATA II
Is it possoble to enable this Support...(if so how.. Never fiddled with a BIOS like this)
