Commell lv-67b phoenix bios unlock request
#1
I enclose latest firmware 1.4C2 of commell lv-67b.
I need firmware with the following mod
1333mhz ram support. I have installed  2x4gb 1333mhz ram modules but are recognized as 1066mhz

Can someone help me out. It is a phoenix-award bios but cpuid says phoenix? so I suppose it is phoenix bios

This latest bios sorts out many problems I had with firmware 1.3 including usb flash drive recognition, in case someone wants to install windows 8, 8.1,10 when booting up instead of using CDRom disc. Also raid option is added. One problem still remains is the ahci and raid options. The ide cd-rom when booting is not recognized when selecting ahci or raid options. So if you have a problem with windows you are stuck and you will not be able to use recovery. So unless you have a ahci compatible CDRom I recommend you stick with ide choice.

Maybe the advance option which are missing could allow me to set higher ram frequency 1333 ddr3 (fsb 333.3 to dram 666.6 frequency= 1:2), so higher front side bus i.e. 333 (from 266) and lower cpu clock i.e. 8 instead of 10 in order to have same max supported cpu frequency of 8 x 333=2666 (P9600)

e.g. of advance settings
Need memory frequency: 1333 (before it was 1066)
FSB: 333 (before it was 266)
Processor min clock: 5 (before it was 6)
Processor max clock: 10 I will use an 8 here to achieve same max supported clock speed. (8x333.3=2666)

.rar   lv67-b1.4.rar (Size: 450.6 KB / Downloads: 4)

Thanks

Hello,
I used modbin to read the bios.

I did not find any advanced settings that need to be changed.

Can anyone comment if I can change, bus, memory clock, cpu clock,  or give up?

Thanks

Hello Cypriot,

This is a Phoenix Award BIOS image. I am going to move this thread to the Award BIOS Unlocking Requests forum.

Thanks.
1. Is it possible to change the multiplier from 1.25 to 2.5 in chipset bios settings???? I think this is the only think that can be easily changed to achieve the memory clock of 1333mhz.
to enable fsb:dram setting so that I can set this ratio to 2.5 (2.5 x 266.6=666.6)
fsb:dram=2.5
or
2.In the bios/chipset setttings there is a support for FSB and DDR3 667
(we could changed this to support FSB to DDR3 1333)

By changing the max memory frequency from 667 to 1333 thus changing the multiplier from 1.25 to 2.5 we will achieve the mod I need.

As in the attached picture
Memory will be clock 666.6 = 266.6 x 2.5 (instead of 333.3=1.25x266.7)
Then I will achieve my goal of 1333Mhz memory modules support.

CBROM utility works but I don't know what to extract from bios file in order to extract the chipset bios settings which I would hex edit and modify the memory clock multiplier value from 1.25 to 2.5. If anyone can guide me then maybe I can modify the setting by myself.

Thanks
666MHz Ran clock Chipset setting support FSB DDR3 666.6 enabled
1033MHz Ram clock Chipset setting support FSB DDR3 666.6 disabled

Regards
~Pan

Any unlock keys to access hidden bios options for Phoenix-Award 6.00 PG? Would be nice if we can find a way to support higher RAM frequency.
