Here, cpu photo with code, boot screen, bios screen and error screen. Then system is stuck, any operating system can't start (as with error 104 of unsupported wireless, for example)
82W cpu are only the Athlon64 mobile, the fastest cpu that this system can support. Standard cpu for this system is 62w
There are also other Compaq Presario R3000 with an 82W Athlon64. Obviusoly with same bios (F.35).
There are 2 motherboards for this system, compal_la-2392 (for 82w cpu) and the cheaper compal_la-2391 (mine).
LA-2392 has two fans, while mine has only one, for example
So I think, can it an hardware check or limit?
My cpu is 25W but it's clear that motherbord don't know that exists this kind of cpu. It recognise only 62w and 82w cpus. If I put a non-62w cpu it says automatically that it's 82w because it knows only this two
I think it seems an hardware check on the motherboard.
And I say it beacause I take the bios chip from an HP zv5200 (you can see it in the bios screen infact) from a motherboard LA-2392 that has 2 fans and supports 82w cpu.
So it's evident that isn't a bios limitation
In your opinion can you confirm it?
So I will try to resolve this problem in that way (and of course I will post here the solution)

I think the problem is not wrong TDP, but old version of CPU recognition module in BIOS.
Your new CPU has "new" LBBID stepping.
Try to find different 90nm CPU with CPUID=010FC0 and other stepping (CBBFD or CBBHD)
