Extract logo/splash screen from bios?
#1
Hey guys is it possible to extract the logo/splash screen from an award bios?
I want to customize it.

If you need the bios: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/747181/Packard%2...34s282.zip
I know there is a tutorial for it in the tutorial section but im not able to open cbrom(I tried different versions of cbrom) .
When I open it,it opens and it closes as soon as it opens.

Thanks!

Did you try CBROM from our download page and then use:

cbrom bios.bin /logo extract Logo.bmp

OK im able to start cbrom, but how to extract the first screen with keys F2,F3...?
Like the screen that you modded.
This one:

But I want the original one.
I tried CBROM196.exe W7301VP2.bin /logo extract & cbrom bios.bin /logo extract Logo.bmp but nothing happens.It doesnt ask me for a file name or anything.
With this one:
CBROM196.exe W7301VP2.bin /epa extract
I have the energystar logo but this is not what I want.

Im able to extract the logo with award bios editor but they are unreadable.Maybe cause they are compressed. What can i do?
Thanks.

Hey Bibo

The W7301VP2 contains Multiple logos as you can see below
Code:
11. OSB LOGO ROM 4B30Ch(300.76K)0272Eh(9.79K)NEC-PB1.bmp
12. OSB BMP ROM 034D0h(13.20K)008FEh(2.25K)64n8IMB2.bmp
13. OSB BMP1 ROM 033E0h(12.97K)0222Bh(8.54K)CoreDuo1.bmp

Therefor you should use this command
Code:
cbrom W7301VP2.bin /osb_logo extract
OR
cbrom W7301VP2.bin /osb_bmp extract

However you can not edit these logos due to them being in EPA format Sad
I have tried EPA2BMP and EPACoder but neither of them could convert
the logos in this bios to a editable Bitmap images.

Your best bet is to take a really good photo of the logo when your
PC starts up and edit it then reinsert it in the bios with cbrom.

Its the screen that you customised when you unlocked my bios, its not bad but the keys on the customised one are wrong.
Its like that cause when i took the photo the screen was changing and make it a weird color. The color that you see on the pic is not really the same with the one that I see when my pc boots.

Nice to see my logo working! If you want me to customize these keys shown on the splash you just have to tell me wich keys your BIOS is using and I will alter the pic! Smile

Sometimes you just have to try to be sure it is not working...

Hi4ALL!
I have a CarPC based on nettop Pegatron amis d2700 with ami bios. I want to change fullscreen logo in bios. I am tried this tool: AMI_Aptio_EFI_MMTool_v4.50.0.23 to found the place with logo in bios modules, but no result... (((
As I know, AMI has the utility "Changelogo" (http://www.ami.com/support/doc/AMI_Aptio...2-2011.pdf: "Aptio® Utilities:
ChangeLogo allows developers to easily change logos displayed by Aptio at boot, via the GUI or CLI. The fullscreen “splash” logo and small logos appearing on the main screen during POST can be replaced with custom logos. ChangeLogo also allows logos to be extracted from existing Aptio ROM files"). Can anybody help me to found this utility or tell me how to do this work by another applications?
With Best Regards, Mikhail, SPb.
