Toshiba Qosmio X305
#1
Hi, I have the Qosmio X305-q701, I upgraded the cpu to the Intel Xtreme Core 2 Duo X9100 (Unlocked Multipliers.) After installing, I entered the bios and to my surprise the bios didn't change any, no option for multiplying or overclocking. Totally defeating the purpose of the X9100. I have looked all around the net and for a bios for the Qosmio X305 that supports the options of the X9100, but have not found anything

I looked around this site, some really impressive stuff. All i can say about it is that I'm KO'd. I was hoping there might be a chance if you could take @ the original bios and see if you can change anything? I well gladly be a tester.

Here is the bios download page:

Thanks.Big Grin

There are no hidden overclock options can be unlocked in the X305's BIOS. There is "Frequency Ratio" (Select the internal frequency multiplier of the CPU) option. However, it has been tested before on different notebook with extreme edition processor & it only caused notebook unbootable. On X300, the CMOS/RTC battery is soldered to the motherboard & I think it's also the same on X305 too. So, it will be difficult to reset CMOS to make the notebook bootable again.

SetFSB has been tested on X305 & it doesn't work. probably because TME is enabled. The only way to overclock extreme processor is by using ThrottleStop. Please give it a try.

If you use my modified BIOS image & you like it, please consider making a donation. Thank you very much. Smile
