Thanks for all the information. I really appreciate it. Yes, the BIOS version is 1.0.16. At this time i am running windows 10, but vista 32 bit was installed at the time of processor upgrade. BIOS 1.0.18 has just a minor addition to Dell logo and no additional patches as per Dell documentations are included. I will for sure give it another try to the latest BIOS, but my main concern at this time is that sometimes the system fails to wake up from standby mode. Same issue can be found on this link:

I had a startup problem when I got the 530 (for free!) from one of the neighbour, but it didn't start at all most of the time. When I got it, I removed the memory 1 by 1 and one of them was faulty. I started ut the Dell with one 1gb left (or was it 2gb? My memory (and balance) has grown weak after partying a lot im my youth ) and went for the 10.0.18 bios (in win7x64) , installed 8gb (4x2gb) one at a time (for some reason this can help if it don`t start after indroducing A LOT more ram than it was in it before). I finished with the CPU - and bob`s your uncle   Be carefull when you remove the heat sink, it IS easily breakable

I don`t know if memory gets broken over time, or it happens all of a sudden. Maybe it could be as simple as onboard battery needs changing?
