[REQUEST] V5-571G Bios Update from v1.22 to v2.18
#1
Question
Hi
i need help how to update my BIOS from v1 to v2, i know i had before InsydeH20 v2 but somehow 2 years ago i downgraded it to v1...

im now on windows 7 and i think it will be possible when i update to v2.18 to switch do Legacy Boot so i can boot Windows 7 with MBR?
i need v2.18 bios because of more options in bios like to switch graphic from auto swich HD 3000 / Nvidia 610M > to only Nvidia 610M running

when i start v2.18 exe in windows 7 it gives me an error message saying to update to the same type of BIOS (v1.x), i extracted the exe with 7zip copied to FAT32 formated USB, booted with POWER OFF, HOLD FN+ESC > POWER CABLE IN > +POWER BUTTON it boots from USB but i get same DOS error update to the same type of BIOS (v1.x)

please can some tell me how to force flash new BIOS v2.18 ?

Model: V5-571G
BIOS: 1.22

Link actual BIOS 1.22 http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...&SC=EMEA_8

Requested BIOS v2.18 http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...&SC=EMEA_8

if possible for advanced settings to turn on in v2.18 will be great!

Yes mate,
I know this issue as It's not possible to jump from 1.x to 2.x Bios versions (UEFI Pure) !
So We have to make mod !
Use this tool run It as Admin and upload here the result file :

http://rghost.net/658W4s2SF

http://rghost.net/6ZV8PlTYX

Use AIDA64 tool too (cracked version to get FULL REPORT) and upload a Report too

let me know

OK done im in v2.18 ( for some info i used rufus, made MS DOS USB and copied your files and then just typed flash.bat DONE)
then i went with F2 in setting changed UEFI mode to Legacy because of my Windows 7 MBR Bootloader.
the only problem is my Windows 7 Licence is gone, i have on desktop in the right corner Windows Build Number and Info that Activation is needed, so i took activation T**lkit and activated windows 7 again, everithing is fine now!

But the whole action flashing new rom is because i want to try to install hackintosh ( OS X El Capitan ) so i need UEFI for better performance and to swich graphic card HD 3000 and turn only Nvidia 620M.

whats next mate? is it possible to make advanced setting for choosing graphic card ( hd 3000 or nvidia 620m )?
