[REQUEST] Aspire A615-51G Hidden Advanced Menu Unlock
#1
Hi, I want to unlock the hidden menu on Acer A615-51G, it has a Intel 8250U processor which is capable to run at 3.4GHz, but as the TDP limit, it can run on that high frequency for about 10 second, after that , the frequency will drop to 2.5GHz as the ThrottleStop said PL1 limit, I use Intel XTU to unlock the PL1, no matter what I've set, the PL1 is still in function and limit the CPU frequency.

I've unpack the BIOS using Phoenix Tools and got the EFI from using IFR tool, the Power Limit Setting is located in VSS settign at 0x6B, 0x6F, 0x73. First I use insydeH20-advanced-settings-tools to modify the VSS setting, but without lock, the tool keep saying "can't set variable using efi(err = 0x00000008)", which is EFI_WRITE_PROTECT error define in grub, so I don't know how to do next. Could anyone kindly unlock the hidden menu for me. Thanks.

No throttle at first, run at full speed.

Throttle later, can only run at 2500Mhz.

The value in screenshot is already modified, the original value is 15, 25, and I modify it to 30, 44, but it still show PL1 throttled

Try to run command
setup_var 0x3D 0xFF
reboot and make TS Bench.
Post screenshot of result (like your previous screenshots)
Then do it again with
setup_var 0x3D 0x2
and
setup_var 0x3D 0x1
