Where is link to the ECC Asus IV Black that supports ECC? I checked latest BIOS 0801 and it has no BIOS setting at all for ECC, not even hidden settings or in the super hidden settings folder.
And it only has same exact instances in the BIOS for ECC as the IV Extreme ASCII and Unicode both match.

Ok i asked and my friend he say me "its a modified version of the bios just take from asus motherboard that support ecc registered memmory and and patch it to your bios (the code) " i dont khow, even if that is possible but if its possible that will be nice

The board has allready ecc support?

Tell him to give you that Black Edition BIOS and upload for me. Yes, the board may already support ECC, I don't know, I only know neither of the boards you mention have any ECC setting options in the BIOS disabled from your view, or hidden

And or, please ask your friend which specific modules to swap into Extreme BIOS, and maybe which board he took them from, then I can probably do for you.

Do you have Xeon CPU? If yes, then it should already support ECC (most all X79 do).
Also, I just now found this post, it says those "128GB Memory" BIOS updates for both boards means 128GB ECC too
https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/188...nt-2534877

And on same thread, page 2, they say you have to have Xeon CPU, i7 doesn't support ECC

I have a Xeon CPU 2620, 128 gb is only for deluxe and the black edition not for my board....asus never released a bios update for rive.

First of all i never tried ecc memory on this board and i dont have memmory for it to power it up....because i tested the modules in a server and yes its burned from my previous pc but i wana buy some ram from ebay

I think im not helping you to understand
But i have xeon cpu allready if that helps you

Anything information you want just ask me
because everything goes wrong i talk with my friend and he say me it dosen't remeber what ram is but its absolutily sure its ecc ...for my bad luck he sold the board six months ago

I see what you mean now, sorry I thought all Asus X79 got the "128GB thing" Update. That may only be for the up to 128GB, ECC may be always, I know on my X79 I could use it with Xeon always, from X79 launch date and before, without any ECC BIOS settings (Like all these Asus boards, no ECC related settings in BIOS, even in hidden areas)

I already understand, you don't need to try and explain, I gotcha! Get some compatible ECC and test BIOS as it is now, it may be already working for your board, since you have the chipset for it and Xeon.

Hello everybody

is there any chance to get resizable bar support by unlocking a bios feature for the Rampage IV Extreme?

I know its an old thing to deal with, and there is a possibility to activate at least above 4G decoding on a P9X79-E WS.
That, as far is a know, is a basic requierment for resizable bar.

Happy for any comments on this!
