[Request] HP Elitebook 6930P WLAN Whitelist removal
#1
Hi,

I have heard that there has been some progresss over hp's whitelists. That's really great! If possible, I would like to request WLAN and WWAN whitelist removal from HP Elitebook 6930p with Intel chipset (not ATI). I want to test some WWAN cards, such as hp hs2300, hp un2400 and hp un2420, but the BIOS whitelist only allows the hp un2400.

Last official BIOS version is F.19 and it seems to be an Insyde BIOS with more than 1mb. The binaries (original rom and flash tool) can be found in sp49259.exe (first download link):

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec...sp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3688870&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3688868&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4061

I also would like to know if it there is a modded rompaq flash tool that I can use if the the original F.19 bios was already flashed. As long as I know, the original flash tool only allows to flash newer bios versions, but not older or the same ones.

I know that I am already asking too much, but I would like to do the same with my dv2-1030us, as I previously asked in other thread. Original binaries can be found in sp45822.exe (probably a Phoenix BIOS):

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...ry?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3914932#N2143

Both links are for Windows 7 64 bits. I will surely consider a small donation if someone can completely remove those undesired whitelists.

Thanks!

The progress that has been made is with the Phoenix BIOSes (AMD) only at the moment. This progress will eventually lead to other BIOSes being 'fixed' the same way. Be patient, they are really busy with this.

i can provide patched HPQFLASH/EROMPAQ with such capabilities for these new HP machines (and old one).

Excellent info! I wonder if there will be some advances for other models such as the 6930p.

I don't mind paying for a modded firmware for the E6930p Intel. Its all the hunting around that bugs me and I understand that it's something I could do myself but I'd rather pay to have it done right and not kill my laptop. PM me if there is a payment method via paypal.

Thank you, Jasoninaz
