ASUS A6M laptop

I see there is nothing about this model on ASUS website now where I downloaded BIOS before, maybe this is temporary failure, if not I can share it another way, my bios is A6M0913AS if your is different we can try.

Sorry for the long delay.
I use the same BIOS as the one you are using.

Either my CPU is faulty, or your version of the A6M is slightly different than mine.
Would be kind of you if you could share your BIOS - make a dump of it if you can.
I've just bought another TMDTL56HAX5CT. I'll let you know if this one works out of the box.

Here we go, there are 2 files inside, A6M-ASUS-0913.rom is original ASUS bios file, a6m-asus-0913a.rom is currently flashed in my laptop, it is result of my experiments with some microcodes I've found.
Of course I should add disclaimer about responsibility and other blah blah blah... but you know it Smile

Thanks a lot Alex!

Unfortunately, the CPU didn't work with your BIOS - the power LED flashes twice just like before.

I'm now 90% certain that the problem lies with my CPU. As I said, I'll be expecting to have a new one tested within next week.
I'll let you know if this one works so that it can be confirmed that this series of Turions work with the A6M.

Cheers

Well, after replacing the Turion with the old Sempron again, the laptop won't boot up. =/
Which CPU's have you added support for? I see there are four more in addition to the existing one.

My only shot now is that the new Turion will work...otherwise I'm screwed.

This is big surprise for me... I'd not removed any CPU's support so it must work, There are added microcodes from ASUS F3Ka (this model also disappeared from ASUS website) but don't remember which CPU support is added, anyway this not ran CPU mentioned in my 1-st post in this thread but still sits in my laptop.
I don't know your knowledge so next question may be silly for you, but did you locked ZIF socket after CPU installation, and did you took care about ESD?
If you are living in UK I can send you my old CPU, it is working, I don't need it and it's worth nothing for me.

Regards and hopefully this is nothing serious...

Hm, that's strange then. I've replaced countless CPU's over the years, this is the first time I've encountered this kind of a situation.
I'll double check everything just to be certain.

Anyways, thanks for the offer mate, really appreciate it. I'll have it in mind if I'm out of options. Smile

I'll let you know if things get sorted out.

This is embarrasing. You were absolutely right about the ZIF socket! Had forgotten to lock it Tongue
Pretty sure now that my Turion is faulty indeed. Will come back with more info as soon as I've received it.
