This time, when you enter SATA Configuration, the option SATA Mode appears... If you select Compatible or Enhanced for the mode, a new option apeats on top of this one, and its the Configure SATA as... option. Yet again, only IDE can be selected. So essentialy, these two fields are reversed.
Don't know if you know for sure, but how whould downgrading to the 0401 BIOS version affect the motherboard. I guess that AHCI would be anabled for ICH9 and JMicron as well, but will I lose support for anything else? I'm running an Intel Core2 DUO E6550 cpu and 4GB of DDR2, so preaty standard. Don't think I need support for new processors, like updates before this version clame to have.
Could I spare you some time, and just downgrade to this version? Will it do the job?
You can try, i don't think there would be a problem. Anyway i will look again for that missing options. SH1T!!! Can't believe i misslooked that sorry.
I have uploaded v2 file for test, with the missing options now corrected and hopefully selectables. Wait your news
You are a god working excellent, I'm so happy after one year of trying to use all four data ports. Works now Thank you

Hi there,
I regret to say that my experience in flashing p5kc-1203_slic-ahci_v2.rom is not successfull unfortunately.
I flashed this modded bios on a P5KC mother board to get AHCI mode for the SSD I intend to mount. However when I rebooted the PC it dispalyed an error message saying "Checksum error, trying recovery bios reading the backup bios from a diskette, a CD reader or a USB stick" or something like this. I have inserted a CD, then tried again with a USB stick, but the recovery would not see any reader available. Since I would not do much more, I brought the PC back to the shop who assembled it. After a week trials they said they could not recover the bios either. In the meantime I searched in the internet and have been Lucky to find, not far from home, a person with the Equipment to flash the eprom directly.
He did it with the above modded bios, he took away the battery from the mother board (presumably to clear the cmos), then plugged in the eprom back and the battery, and we tried to switch on the PC. That did not work either. The fans started to run, then stopped, and nothing more happened.
He then flashed the p5kc-1203 original bios, and reinstalled the eprom on the PC. And at this time all went OK, we could enter Bios config, and boot Win7/64 again. I was relieved that we could do this.
At this stage the person said may be there is an incompatibility between the modded bios and the version of the p5kc I have. May be a regionalisation or something like this. The p5kc mother board is version 1.03G and I bought it in France, since I am living there.
Is there any chance I can get AHCI mode with this mother board ? Otherwise I would have to return back the SSD I guess as it would be unusable without the trim function (it's a pitty because Win7/64 sees it very well !).
Thank you to let me know any tweek that could be done. At worst I can go back to this person to flash again the bios.
The label on the box of the mother board says the following, if this can help. P5KC <GREEN>, LGA775 (I have installed an Intel Quad Core Q9650), Intel P35+ICH9, Intel Core2 CPU ready, FSB 1333MHz, Dual-ch DDR2 or DDR3 (I have 8 Gb DDR3 on it), AI Gear 2, Stack Cool 2, Heat Pipe, AI Slot Detector, 12xUSB, Vista Premium, RoHS Compliant. followed by a Serial No. and a Part No.

Hello,
First of all thanks for the great work. I updated my mobo with V2 and everything worked well. I connected my SSD, and installed win7 64 bit without problems.
I have the same card with same rev number KW28, but i had no problems with installation. Maybe there was a problem with your usb drive.
If you install the bios v2 you need to reset your CMOS. Thanks for the great work again..

Thanks for your work on this - for some reason took ages and several attempts to download the file, but unfortunately it seems my floppy drive is all but dead, and this was the updating system with which I am most familiar. Might try again another way/another day, but the problem is with me not with you, so thanks anyway.

Update - tried again from a USB drive, and this time it installed perfectly - no problems at all, and WEI on a Samsung 120GB SSD has jumped from 7.1 to 7.7 with the activation of AHCI. Thanks again!

Hy,
I wish to thank you for your work. Also I want to confirm that the BIOS for P5KCX is OK and after I update the BIOS, the AHCI option appear.
Have a nice day.

Thx man for the BIOS.Rom
U made this possible
Now all 5 Drives connected with the board are finally available in Mavericks.
Without that bios file i was only able to install after i connect my hdd to the eSata Port.
After that i wasnt able to get acess nor see the other HDDs. Now everything is just fine.
(board show up as a Apple Inc. Mac-F221BEC8 Rev 1.xx Mainboard because of editing the smbios file for OSx)
Thx a lot man.
