Acer aspire 1694 (Quanta zl2) SATA
#1
I planed to update my notebook - acer aspire 1694wmli - the main idea plug ssd to it.
It is quanta zl2 project as acer travelmate 4100 and 4600.
The problem is - i removed IDE port and make SATA port,
But bios dont see new SATA hdd.
Can i understand if there is support sata in bios.
I read several posts over the internet and people says that they do it successfully
On the notes like aspire 1694 with the ich6-m, which has 2 sata ports, and 1 ide
With standard official bios, wich was first desinged for pata hdd.
As i can see the last bios for aspire 1694 - 3A45 at the official site.
But for travelmate 4100 there is one new adding to previous - 3C29.
I am asking could I use 3C29 for aspire 1694?
Is there exist a sata support in this bios?
If no please add support sata if you can.
Can you enable achi on this bios?
Can you reduce the limit of 2 Gb Ram which is set by bios,
Because 2 gb module it can see, but dont see second 2 gb module.
And for 2 modules of 1 gb it is OK.
Help please.

Post here original bios update link to download bios !
I think this limit is fixed by WinXP you have try to use Win7 and get 3 Gb or
If there are drivers better 64 bit to get all ram !
But We have to find solution.

Bios address 3A45.
http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_3A45%20(ATI%20M26).zip?acerid=633643231520551506&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%201690&OS=ALL&LC=ru&BC=ACER&SC=EMEA_23
The main purpose is to enable sata and achi.
If you can do it I will be happy already.
I found more precisionly the model of notebook is quanta zl3 for ddr2.
About memmory I cant find the forum where I had read how people tried to use 4GB ram on this note and share there results .But as i can remember the notebook doesnt see 4 Gb. The main thing they told that the bios limits to 2 Gb, not OS. About the limit of 2 Gb ram is written in its official characteristics of model acer aspire 1964wlmi.
