thanks for your (amazingly) quick response! I did upload the screenshots (real shots since the crappy BIOS has no function for that) and the backup bios.

by the way: is there any way to restore a BIOS in case of bricking on the N581? I guess not (havn't seen a dual bios or something like that).

I really tried to get that [censored] WOL to work today. it does work on my desktop rig, but my notebook just does not boot up when I send the magic packet. It's not available and I don't be sure It will work on this laptop the
Recovery Procedure, but You can reflash the Bios Mod without fear
as It based on your Bios Backup !
Only You haven't touch Overclockong and Video Settings into Bios Setup !!!

I am not going to overclock or touch video settings. just want to activate wake on PME/modem ring.

Are You flashing It from Pure DOS = USB Stick Fat32 Formatted and Bootable ?
Disabling SecureBoot and Setting Legacy Bios USB ?
